01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Mitarashi dango is best enjoyed while warm. Diners have praised the generous coating of sweet soy-based sauce at Amato MAEDA, and some visit for the balance of the grilling and sauce. For a sit-down treat, order the dango on its own or choose a drink-inclusive set with a selection of dango. Options include mitarashi, sweet red bean paste, kinako, karami, yuzu miso and cheese with mentaiko.

The mitarashi parfait is another option when you want to sample several sweets in one dish. One diner described a combination of warabi mochi, kanten, sweet red bean paste and soft-serve ice cream. A guest who ordered the matcha parfait also noted the contrast of crisp rice crackers alongside matcha soft serve, matcha dango and matcha warabi mochi.

For a little variety, there is also the Uzura Set. One customer enjoyed a serving that brought together mitarashi dango, warabi mochi, sweet red beans and ice cream, shiratama dumplings and a drink. Lunch options include sets with nyūmen, thin noodles served in hot broth, and bara-zushi, a colourful sushi rice dish.

You can eat in or take your order away, so choose whichever suits your plans.
